About Me
Hi there!
Let me tell ya a little bit about myself. My name is Mikayla.
I've been homeschooled my entire life and I worked really hard and ended up graduating high school in 2012...when I had just turned 15!
After I graduated I started teaching piano to little kids. I've been playing piano since I was little and recently started trying to learn the guitar and banjo.
Me, my parents, & my little sister have started building a tiny church house that I'm going to live in! Sounds kinda strange...I know, haha!
But let me explain where this little project all began...

But let me explain where this little project all began...
"There's a church in the valley by the wildwood, no lovelier place in the dale, no spot is so dear to my childhood as the little brown church in the dale."
When I was a baby, my mom would rock me to sleep and sing me the song "Church in the Wildwood". She's always liked the way old churches looked and said she would like to have her own church in the wildwood someday. 18 years later, we 'city slickers' bought some land way out in the middle of nowhere and planned to eventually build a house and move out to the good ole country! Until then, we would drive out there, trim trees, and dream about what could be.
One day, my Uncle (who builds houses) called and said he had a lot of extra wood from a project he was working on and that we could have it all if we had a use for it!
We picked it up and it was just enough to build a nice shed out at the land, so that's what we'd do.
But my mom had to make things a little more difficult...why just build a plain old shed when you can build one that looks like an old church!
At last, after all these years Mom was getting the church in the wildwood like she wanted. But I am my mother's daughter...so I thought, why build a shed when we could expand it a little and I could have my own tiny house!

I pitched the idea to my folks and for the first time, they actually liked my crazy plan! As long as the outside can look like Mom's old church, I could do with the inside as I pleased. So the 4 of us (who have NEVER built anything like this from the ground up before) got together and started to attempt to build this tiny house/church and it has been quite the adventure!
