11/1/2016 0 Comments The Insulation DisasterIt was finally time to start putting insulation up before installing the sheet rock and we decided we would rent an insulating machine from Home Depot! It seemed fairly simple...put the insulation in the machine, it chops it up & sends it through the tube where we would then fill the walls. Apparently, when you blow insulation you have to nail netting up to the wall you're filling so it stays packed in & up against the wall. The store we bought the netting from suggested the wrong type of netting! It had wide holes in it! Because we had never done this before, we didn't notice the holes were wide enough for the insulation to escape and shoot ALL OVER my house!! The second we turned it on it was like an explosion, completely covering everything in my house, including us! It looked like we had just been through a blizzard! We finished the one wall and went straight to Home Depot to return the machine. We ended up using batting insulation for the rest of my house & I'm still finding pieces of insulation everywhere, haha!
